Rick Cooper

Rick began his career in San Francisco at Vidal Sassoon as a stylist and educator. Vidal Sassoon was an early inspiration for Rick and his principals for learning and passion for perfection have been a constant influence throughout his career. He credits that early immersion for inspiring him develop his own unique method of cutting which he based on the fundamental principals of personalization, perfection, and precision. His continuous pursuit of excellence drives him to develop new and innovative techniques that he shares not only within the salon but also within the industry through many different education forums.

This very pursuit of excellence and innovation ultimately led him to open Cooper Alley Salon in 2001. He envisioned a salon built upon three very important ideals: creating a positive and professional culture for our team and our guests, establishing a strong team based identity, and by cultivating a commitment within the salon of supporting our local community through various charities. A constant presence at the salon, Rick has built a strong team that shares these very ideals. Rick also recognizes the importance of developing the technical, creative, and professional abilities of designers within our industry. In fact, it’s this very commitment to learning that encouraged him to share his knowledge nationally through seminars, hair shows, and editorial work.

Alyona’s journey began in the fashion district of Odessa Ukraine in 2005 where she dedicated herself to continuously honing her craft until she decided to move to the United States in 2015. Even though she fully understood that she would have to start her career all over again she made the courageous decision to take her talents across the Atlantic to the Bay Area in 2015, from starting as an associate just learning the ropes to effortlessly establishing herself as an extremely talented and successful stylist with a thriving clientele. With over 20 years of experience in the industry Alyona has established herself as a premier hair stylist in the bay area recognized for her precision haircuts and modern styling trends but her compelling story is about much more than just styling hair, for her, it’s about transforming peoples lives by making them feel truly beautiful in every way.

For Alyona, hair isn’t just work, it’s her passion as well as her art. Alyona believes that when a person is confident in how they look, it can truly shift their entire world. Her chair isn’t just a random seat in the salon, it’s a space of trust, where stories are shared, laughter comes easily, and deep meaningful connections are made. Alyona deeply values the bond she creates with each guest as they are moments of transformation that go far beyond the mirror.
